Aw shit... salmonella is the last thing I need...

I toasted a bagel this morning, and couldn't decide what I wanted to put on it. It's a blueberry bagel, and I don't like butter with bagels, and I had no jam, and no cream cheese. Then I remembered that I had two jars of peanut butter somewhere in my pantry. I took them out, and noticed they were both Peter Pan. Then something clicked in my head, and I looked at the code on the top, and both of them started with 2111. Another thing clicked in my head. So I went to the CNN website and did a little search and of course the first 10 links are to articles about Peter Pan peanut butter being pulled off the market and people suing because they got salmonella from the peanut butter. I looked and more than half of one jar was gone, that's right, I had eaten all that.

Of course I haven't eaten peanut butter since 2006, but oh my god, I think I have salmonella. I have all the symptoms, or I have had at least one of the symptoms at least at some point or another in the past 6 months, maybe I haven't had them all simultaneously, but is that really a requirement? I think I'm going to join the group of people suing. Rrrrrrrrright!

I think as Americans we have become way too attached to saying "you did what? I'll sue you!" There is way too much money wasted on baseless law suits, and if it were up to me, every time someone brought a suit based on very little just for the purpose of harassing or "scaring" people (sounds familiar?) that they would be fined A LOT of money. I think if it is found that someone brought a frivolous law suit, they have to pay at least attorney's fees for the other side. I actually think they deserve to be jailed because they wasted not only other people's time and resources, but they also wasted the time of the legal system. Of course I blame the lawyers who tell these idiots that "yeah, you have a cause of action, even though you don't have enough evidence or evidence at all." Stupid people believe them and we end up with idiots in courts adjudicating NOTHING. So, you bought peanut butter with salmonella, you ate some, nothing really happened. Just be happy, move on, get a life, get a hobby, and don't eat peanut butter!
